With one day remaining Bangladesh require another  375 runs with 7 wickets remaining to win 1st Test Match against South Africa at Potchefstroom. In response to huge target of 424 set by South Africa, Bangladesh were 49 for 3 at end of Day 4.

The rainy day ahead gives slight hope for visitors to capture draw. Bangladesh’s only consolation is that they still have Mushfiqur Rahim, one of their most experienced batsmen, at the crease, unbeaten on 16.

Earlier in the day, South Africa took rapid strides towards establishing a big lead, adding 193 runs to their overnight 54 for 2 in just 241 balls. Du Plessis and Temba Bavuma did the huge of the scoring, putting together 142 for the fourth wicket. They came together after Hashim Amla caught behind an offcutter from Mustafizur and pushed up the run-rate, punching 149 runs at 5.12 per over in the first session as Bangladesh’s bowlers created very little impact.
